Silent Movie Night 2020: A Tale of Two Filmmakers

October 17th, 2020 | Facebook, YouTube

Coming to a screen near you - grab some popcorn and settle in for the first ever online Silent Movie Night! The stream will be available on our Facebook Page and YouTube Channel.

This new online format allows us to show films we haven't had the opportunity to screen before at Silent Movie Night, such as short films by the French Illusionist Georges Méliès, who pioneered special effects and editing in film. Lance Johnson will accompany Buster Keaton's classic film "One Week," and RRTOS members will help set the mood with music from the early 1900's played on Fargo's own Mighty Wurlitzer!

POSTPONED: Pedals, Pipes, and Pizza

May 2021 | First Lutheran Church

Are you a piano student? If so, come experience some of Downtown Fargo's most significant pipe organs at Pedals, Pipes, and Pizza! We will be visiting First Lutheran, First Presbyterian, and the Fargo Theatre. You will learn about how pipe organs work, how they're played, and even have the opportunity to play them yourself!

In light of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Pedals, Pipes & Pizza has been postponed to a later date. Please check back later for an update event listing.

POSTPONED: The Evolution of Movie Music

May 2021 | Fargo Theatre

Local award-winning organist Ryan Hardy takes the audience on a musical journey through time exploring the changing roles and styles of film music from its beginnings in the early 1900s to present day thrillers, dramas, and animated movies. Experience the Mighty Wurlitzer in concert at its first concert-style program at the Fargo Theatre since 2005.

In light of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Pedals, Pipes & Pizza has been postponed to a later date. Please check back later for an update event listing.

Movie Prologues

Friday & Saturday Evenings | Fargo Theatre

Since 1973, RRTOS members have been playing pre-show music on the Mighty Wurlitzer before the Fargo Theatre's films and events. Prologues are also played for the Fargo Film Festival, Kids Flicks, Classic Movie Series, and occasional live events. Each performance begins 15-20 minutes before the scheduled program.

Due to the Fargo Theatre's varied schedule, please call the Theatre to confirm if or when an organist will be playing before the show at 701-239-8385

Looking for some of our other yearly events? Our upcoming programs will be posted as they are scheduled - keep checking back or subscribe to our email newsletter (linked below) to receive updates about RRTOS news and upcoming events.
